PsP Go | Info Leaked
- Front Page:

Sony's latest portable gaming device got a bit of an early introduction after photos and video were leaked recently. But that takes very little away from the buzz being generated about the sleek, Sony Go portable gaming system. Lets just call it a cousin to the PsP 3000 which was released worldwide in early 2004. Unlike its counterpart, the new PsP Go will be all digital media, meaning no disks, and will also have 16 gigs of storage space as well as flash memory.
Classic Sony PsP fans can relax, this isn't meant to be a replacement. Think of it as an upgrade for the future. Just like the iphone revolutionized the multimedia smartphone, Sony expects to attract more than your average gamer. The Go is light at around 3.8 ounces (43% lighter than the PsP3k) and also has a streamlined slide-out gamepad. Making it extra portable, allowing owners to watch movies, video, and listen to music on the go as well as play games.
And anyone upgrading from the PsP 3000 can enjoy virtually the same type of controls, and the ability to download games and other applications should keep things fresh for anyone worrying about its long term future. Considering the PsP's main competitor, the Nintendo DS has outsold it two to one (100 million vs 50 million), Sony may be looking to gain its own unique foothold on the portable gaming market for the future.
