Letterman Monologue (is this really in reference to Palins 14yo daughter?)
And From Letterman's Top 10 List, #2 "Bought makeup from Bloomingdale's to update her "slutty flight attendant" look"
Oh hahahaha.. lolol that's soooo funny Letterman? What about the joke about Barack Obama's wife looking like James Brown in drag? Oh.. sorry.. maybe that was uncalled for also.. err.. no.
Meanwhile, Palin Fights Back calling Letterman "pathetic"
And the sh*t hits the fan on Hotair.com as the comments keep coming from members who express their disgust over Letterman's remarks.
Its important to note, that the only daughter Sarah and her husband Todd had with them during their Trip to New York, was their 14 year old daughter Willow. (is the video new, old, in reference to Willow, what?)
Alaskan Governor and former Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin was in New York this past weekend, visiting historical sites in Auburn, and Seneca Falls with her family. She also found time to attend a Yankee game on Sunday, but her main stop was at a fundraiser walk for Autism Speaks on the very same day.
Of course, the Governor also found time to speak up about politics, which may be why Letterman decided to hit her with the insults on his show It is late night comedy after all. Letterman decided to prove exactly why his ratings are slowly tanking even though he signed a new contract extension for until 2012.
So whats the point? Seems Letterman has a bit of animosity towards Mrs Palin. Possibly because of his political weakness. After all, Letterman has never been shy about his liberal views. Nothing wrong with that i guess, but at least Carson and Leno were smart with their jokes. I sure hope Conan O'Brian destroys Letterman the "dirty old man".
Come on.. sexual jokes about Sarah Palins 14 year old daughter?
He better fire a few of his writers, because I have a feeling there may be retribution in the end.
Dubbed "Teleprompter One" by NBC's Today Show, even Obama supporters are starting to question the presidents need for the high tech "crutch". Whether he is in a town hall meeting, or as NBC points out, a Rodeo, his BFF is always by his side. Yet something doesn't quite add up here. If he is essentially using a "crutch" why is it that so many Obama followers as well as rivals are dubbing him as one of the most bright and articulate presidents since John F. Kennedy?
First lets define articulate. According to Meriam Webster articulate is defined as, expressing oneself readily, clearly, or effectively
Teleprompter:
On, check,
functioning properly, check
reading and speaking properly, check
crowd is happy, check
Articulate, CHECK!
Coming up with the idea to bring your teleprompter everywhere you go, yes Mr. President, that is bright. Considering your record, perhaps that was a suggestion made by staff members who understood that their investment, isn't exactly known for his speaking skills.
The above video has been spreading across the internet recently thanks to conservatives who are concerned over the presidents increased attention towards the Middle East. Something which was once reserved for condemning terrorists, and combating evil, Obama seems to think that kind words and tolerance will be the key to improving our relations with nations like Iran and Pakistan.
Barack Hussein Obama made the following statements during an interview on Canal Plus TV in France on Wednesday.
"What I want to do is to create a better dialogue so that the Muslim world understands more effectively how the United States but also how the West thinks about many of these difficult issues like terrorism, like democracy, to discuss the framework for what's happened in Iraq and Afghanistan and our outreach to Iran, and also how we view the prospects for peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Now, the flip side is I think that the United States and the West generally, we have to educate ourselves more effectively on Islam. And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslims Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. And so there's got to be a better dialogue and a better understanding between the two peoples.
Yes i used Obama's once "forbidden" middle name. And I'm now free to do so considering that the president himself has been using it with increasing frequency recently. His trip to the Middle East this week, and his speech scheduled to be given in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday, are the center pieces of the presidents agenda. And what agenda is that you might be asking? Well, simply to remind the Muslim world, that the United States is committed to improving relations and mending the wounds left by past administrations.
"The products built in the factories of GM, Ford and Chrysler are some of the greatest weapons of mass destruction responsible for global warming and the melting of our polar icecaps. The things we call "cars" may have been fun to drive, but they are like a million daggers into the heart of Mother Nature. To continue to build them would only lead to the ruin of our species and much of the planet." Writes Michael Moore on his website.
Political activist and filmmaker Michael Moore had some harsh words for GM on Monday. The bankrupt auto manufacturer is finally facing reality even after 20+ billion dollars were pumped into the auto giant to save it in the first place. All in the name of "saving jobs" recent estimates on job losses will total over 21k as well as 11 plant closings as part of the bankruptcy terms. Moore is calling for the president to turn those 11 plants into factories for environmentalism, instead of letting them go to waste why not use the assembly lines to create alternative energy?
There is only one problem Michael. The reason GM went under in the first place was because of costs and demand. Sure the United States could use more environmentally friendly goodies, but the problem is, nobody is buying. And to transfer those factories over to assembling anything but cars, would cost tax payers a pretty penny and for what? Happy squirrels and fish?
Lets face some cold hard truths here. The only thing that will bring this country back on track, will be time and less money. The war isn't on cars, and its not raging due to a lack of public transportation. The war is in each and every household, as Americans struggle to pay their bills, and feed their families. As business struggle to keep their employees working, the last thing we need is more government waste and the production of products nobody is going to touch. Look at California, its the crusader of the environment, and is their economy doing well? Hell no.. they are worse off than any other state. We can't fix things with "happy thoughts and good intentions."
With the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the United States took its place as the one true global super power. The policies of Reagan drove the Soviets into a spending war, which they could not sustain. This simply sped up the process on the path to economic collapse for the former communist state. Yet today, nearly 20 years later, the United States itself faces an economic collapse. The most recent numbers set the United States at just over 11.3 trillion dollars in national debt, nearly 7 trillion of which is public debt. Back in 2007, its estimated that the total national debt of the United States was 65.5% of our GDP. And numbers from May of 2009 place it at 82%, with projections for 2010 at an astonishing 97%. To put it into clearer terms, that would be the equivalent of having a credit card bill, nearly 100% of your combined total income before taxes.
By comparison China is estimated to have less than 23% of its GDP in national debt and India is reported to have a surplus. Both countries account for 2 of the top 10 economies in the world, based on GDP. Its important to note that India went through some major economic reforms in the 80's and early 90's, from a socialist state, to one based on a more free market enterprise. The same can be said for Communist China, which in the past decade has seen economic progress which has surpassed previous accomplishments that started in the late 70's. With their economy growing at an average close to 10% per year since 1990, China is poised to become the next global super power.
Critics on both sides of the fence can no doubt point to the fact that China's government has over a 1/3 investment in the total economy. Yet the move towards private ownership and investment has been gradually increasing as the Chinese people experience greater social and economic freedoms.
According to a report released on Friday, climate change caused by man, kills an estimated 300k people per year and adversely effects 300 million more at risk according to the Global Humanitarian Forum. Led by former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, the forum was established in 2007 to "bring together once a year major players in the humanitarian world and discuss visions on humanitarian assistance, humanitarian intervention". The report also warns that developing countries account for 99% of the lives lost due to climate change. And also states that efforts should be increased by 100 times their current rate. If this trend continues, by 2030, its warned the numbers could reach 600 million, at the cost of 300 billion annually.
Several weeks ago the couple fled the country, supposedly to China, after their bank made a huge mistake. An overdraft request of NZ$10,000 turned into 10 million, and they split leaving behind a $700,000 home and a failing business. Interpol was notified, and now the hunt is on. The bank, Westpac was able to retrieve $4 million of the missing money, the rest was wired to Korea by the couple. According to a report, Cara Young's sister was found commenting on her Facebook page as to details of their location.
What really caught my attention about this story, was some of the comments made by people who were defending their actions. I will provide some of them which were taken from the the UK's TimesOnline website.
"In this age of recession, I can understand how this couple lost all logic and ran for it. Even though they've broken the law, I wish them luck. To the self-righteous here, apart from "he who casts the first stone", banks are robbing people all over the world with their appauling charging structure!" - J. Brown, Borehamwood, Herts
Everyone's favorite political movie maker Michael Moore is back in the news. What right will he wrong, what truth will he uncover, what evil will he expose? The award winning filmmakers newest target/project will be in the form of yet another "documentary." This one will be about the current recession and the economic crisis which many Americans fear may never come to an end.
Moore recently had this to say, "The wealthy, at some point, decided they didn't have enough wealth" -- "They wanted more, a lot more. So they systematically set about to fleece the American people out of their hard-earned money. Now, why would they do this? That is what I seek to discover in this movie."
On Friday, Sen. Robert C. Byrd was hospitalized as a precautionary measure, after it was reported that he had experienced a 'spike in temperature.' His office released a statement in reference to the Senators condition saying, "he is being treated with antibiotics, responding well and is expected to be released from the hospital in a few days." Some question why the statement was released 3 days after he was hospitalized. I think the answer is quite clear, perhaps they were uncertain if he would make it until today. None the less, he is expected to return to the Senate which he has called home since 1959.
Angels & Demons is suffering from a minor case of the Mondays here in the United States. Their opening weekend produced close to 50 million dollars in ticket sales, not bad, but not that impressive either. In comparison, The Da Vinci Code, the predecessor to A&D, grossed over 70 million just 3 years ago here in the United States. But thanks to the rest of the world, A&D churned out over $100 million outside of the U.S, bringing its box office total to over $152 million.
