Obama Lies, Health Care Dies

While 1/6 of the economy is on the line, Democrats plan on negotiating the final version of the health care reform bill behind closed doors. C-Span was used as a campaign ploy to convince voters during the 2008 elections that then, presidential candidate Barack Obama was somehow all about transparency and accountability. Not another 8 years or George W. Bush his supporters claimed. This was the hope and change that the American people had hoped for.

Health Insurance Mandate | Constitutional Issue Addressed

I encourage people to read the constitution. Not only that, do some research on the founding fathers, the revolutionary war, American independence and the fundamental principles in which this country was founded upon. Understand what it means to be free, don't fall for the notion that health care is somehow a right, freedom and liberty is the only true right.

The war on Fox News gets "deeper"

The Obama administration continues to label Fox News a "non news" network. While its true that Fox News stacks its prime time lineups with political commentators like Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reily the same can be said for cable rivals like MSNBC. So is there a double standard? I think the answer is clear. The fact is, if you want to experience bias which is the complete opposite of FNC you have a multitude of other networks to choose from.

Kudlow & Santelli called it 7 months ago.

Does this sound familiar?

If you have even remotely paid attention to the news lately you may have noticed that the Obama administration is turning up the heat on cable news, talk radio and conservative news/opinion websites. Three names come to mind, Fox, Rush and Drudge. In the words of Larry Kudlow, "there is a freedom of the press issue, there is also a respect issue, and there is also a bullying issue," and Rick Santelli nailed it pointing out freedom of speech. Liberals are on the attack, probably because Obama's approval ratings continue to drop and key issues on the administrations agenda seem to be stalled or riddled with negative coverage from news organizations like Fox News.

The Failure of Recovery

As of October 10th over 30k jobs have been created or saved thanks to federal contracts granted by the 2009 Recovery and Reinvestment Act. That amounts to an average of 600 jobs per state with approximately $2.2 billion of just over $16 billion having been spent so far. But what does this mean to taxpayers? Well simply going by the averages here, that amounts to over 70k dollars per job created or saved. Below is a chart which shows the average medium income in the United States for people aged 25 and over. This should give people an idea of the scope of the costs for a single job.

Peter Schiff was right, but will he be right for 2010?

Peter Schiff is a fiscally conservative economist, investor, writer, speaker, video blogger and commentator who is famous for his bearish financial predictions. People laughed at him from 2002-2007 when he proclaimed that the United States economy was on the verge of financial collapse. In 2008 that all changed when the sub prime housing market bubble burst and unemployment numbers began to rise all in the midst of bailouts and the Federal Reserve printing money like it was going out of style. But unless you watched CSPAN or the Fox Business channel you would have never known who Peter Schiff was. Thanks to a youtube video titled Peter Schiff Was Right he soon became an internet celebrity.

Socialism Doesn't Add Up

"Nobody, no individual nor country, can indefinitely spend more than she or he earns. Two plus two always adds up to four, never five," he also added, "Within the conditions of our imperfect socialism, due to our own shortcomings, two plus two often adds up to three."

Who said this? None other than Raul Castro, the younger brother of Fidel and current communist president/dictator of Cuba. These statements were made in an August speech after the government moved to cut social programs due to the global recession. According to president Castro, more focus needs to be put on those who produce and less on those who do not. The social welfare system in Cuba is simply failing, regulations by government are being lifted not in favor of capitalism but out of pure necessity. And perhaps this can be a lesson for the rest of the world.

Montana FFA & The 10th Amendment Take on the Feds.

Firearms Freedom Act

First came Montana, then Tennessee and its seems the trend is expanding to other states like Texas and Florida. Two of seven states which have recently introduced FFA legislation protecting gun owners from federal laws. Leading the cause in the state of Montana is the Second Amendment Foundation and the Montana Shooting Sports Association which filed a lawsuit against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. The FFA was established in response to the ATF's intended enforcement of federal firearm laws such as the GCA passed in 1968. Below is an expert taken from the legal page of the ATF website.

Chicago Loses Olympics Bid

Chicago news anchors stunned as the city is voted out of the running for the 2016 summer Olympics.

Matt Drudge said it best. "The EGO has landed". Diplomacy doesn't always work, popularity doesn't always matter and political power only gets you so far. Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and even Oprah couldn't sway the Olympic panel. The real loser here is not Chicago but Richard Daley.
