A 7 year career comes to an end as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspends the wide receiver indefinitely after a DUI manslaughter conviction on Tuesday.
Stallworth started his career with the New Orleans Saints in 2002 and ended his career with the Cleveland browns after the 2008 season. A year after he signed a 7 year, 35 million dollar contract with the browns , the incident that would change his life forever occurred. On March 14, 2009 a drunken night ended in tragedy when Stallworths Bentley sedan struck and killed a 59 year old Mario Reyes.
His blood alcohol content was reported to be 0.12 at the time of the incident. Stalworth's vehicle was traveling at 50 mph in a 40 mph zone, with a BAC of .12 (the legal limit in Florida is .08). Rayes was attempting to catch a bus after work, when Stallworth sped past a parked car to beat a red light.
