The Bull Shark is one of the most widespread species of sharks in the world. Its also not a true freshwater shark but it does posses a high tolerance for fresh water. Which is why Louisiana fishermen and conservationists have been discovering increasing numbers in the inland waters of the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp.
Because of its tendency to be found in shallow waters its one of the top 3 sharks known to attack humans. Considering they get up to 13 feet long, its probably best if you avoid splashing around in waters your not familiar with.
