Big Ben In Big Trouble | Steelers QB Accused Of Sexual Assault
- Front Page:
Disclaimer: As of 7/21. Civil Lawsuit, No Criminal Charges

NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault and rape according to AP sources. The alleged incident happened last summer in Lake Tahoe, while the Pittsburgh Steeler's QB was in town for a celebrity golf tournament.
The woman who is yet unidentified claims authorities for Harrah's Hotel/Casino where the incident happened refused to investigate. The alleged victim was an employee at Harrah's Casino in July of 2008 when she claimed she was lured into his hotel room to fix the TV, and was then sexually assaulted.
Roethlisberger's attorney defended his client publicly stating. "If an investigation is commenced, Ben will cooperate fully and Ben will be fully exonerated." Its reported that a civil lawsuit was filed on Friday seeking physical/emotional damages of $390,000.
No criminal charges have been filed at the time. The apparent lack of an investigation during the last year may be an indication of the actual validity of the accusations according to legal representatives of Mr. Roethlisberger. This could perhaps be a "money grab" attempt, but no concrete information has been uncovered as of yet to indicate one way or another in the case.
The 2 time Super Bowl champion (XL, XLIII) is no stranger to adversity both on and off the field, it should be interesting to see how this story develops.
