Viking Gold? Favre Finally Takes The Leap

Whats wrong with this picture?

Its pretty straight forward. After a roller coaster of news headlines pondering and speculating Brett Favre's career plans, the veteran QB has finally decided to join the Minnesota Vikings for 12 million big ones. And to be fair, he has been fanning the flames of speculation ever since he retired in 2007.

Is his legacy finally shot? Football fans may remember the 2008 fiasco when Favre signed with the New York Jets. But this latest development could be a Green Bay Packer fans worst nightmare, and perhaps the Vikings savior. Why? Well its pretty obvious the rivalry between the two teams is a factor.

But more importantly the Vikings need to fill the Metrodome, sell tickets, and basically sell the team to the fans. Something they struggled with during the playoffs in January. The Blackout was avoided but the message was clear, the Vikings needed a spark. So will this be the spark, or will Favre simply make a nice trophy for Vikings fans?
