Obama's Nobel Prize | Simply A Distraction

The internet, the world, the media, just to name a few. People can't stop scratching their heads, bitching or even praising Barack Husein Obama for his accomplishment. The Nobel Peace Prize is nothing new for United States presidents, but many people are left wondering how Obama could win the prize so soon.

It took Jimmy Carter 20 years after leaving office before he received the award. The fact that Obama was nominated just 2 week into his first year of office sends a clear message. Although peace is still a far way from reality, Obama is no George W. Bush, perhaps that is all that matters.

With the war escalating in Afghanistan, increased pressure being put on neighboring Pakistan and American troops still fighting in Iraq the world is asking "where is the peace." Surely someone who has won the Nobel Peace Prize would not only be promoting peace but practicing peace as well. But that is not why Obama won, its about his message to the world, that of hope, a new strategy in foreign relations, admitting to the flaws of the United States. Again.. the exact opposite of George W. Bush, notice a trend yet?

The failed 2016 Olympic bid should have been a sign that good intentions and open relations with world leaders both Democratic and Authoritarian does not always produce favorable results. Is this such an example? Does a Nobel Prize equate to respect or is there another message? These are questions that even Obama supporters are asking themselves.

Critics of Obama are quick to be outraged at the fact that he would receive such an award. But they fail to realize that it has nothing to do with them. Much like the Olympic failure was a clear message to the United States and the Nobel Peace prize is a message to president Obama. You either play by the rules of the rest of the world or you will be turned into the black sheep of global opinion. Al Gore won the Nobel Prize with his global warming crusade, it should be no surprise that Obama would win for apologizing to most of the world that views Americans are selfish rednecks who cling to their guns and bibles. They couldn't be further from reality, but then again, their views are not based in reality simply ignorance. Amazing how that works both ways.

What really matters is what is happening right here in the United States. You can't distract the public from reality, the fact that there are nearly 20 million people unemployed, consumer spending is down, credit is scarce and confidence is at an all time low. These are the things that matter in this country, the Nobel "Appeasement" Prize is nothing more than a distraction. Judge your president by his record the last 8 months, not by his popularity thousands of miles away.
